Description
Ukrainian Village is a unique neighborhood located along Chicago Avenue. It is one of the most distinct areas of Chicago. Combined with East Village, Wicker Park, Noble Square, and Eckhart Park, Ukrainian Village creates the community known as West Town. Modern architects are making an effort to construct new housing while maintaining the general European style of Ukrainian Village. Affordable housing predominately consists of small bungalows and two-three flats.
This immaculate neighborhood boasts beautiful parks and ornate orthodox cathedrals with gorgeous domes. The Ukrainian Village has the feel of a European community with colorful flower boxes adorning many of the streets and homes. Unique shops, authentic Ukrainian cuisine at traditional restaurants, coffee shops, cafes and neighborhood pubs abound in the Ukrainian Village. Residents also enjoy easy access to dozens of trendy restaurants, eclectic boutiques and art galleries in nearby Wicker Park.
Ukrainian Village commuters have easy access to the Kennedy Expressway and the CTA's Blue Line. The Ukrainian Village offers urban dwellers the opportunity to enjoy city life at more affordable prices than its neighbors in Wicker Park and Lincoln Park.
